Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge

In the winter migrating birds take refuge in the Bosque. Tens of thousands of birds including sandhill cranes, Arctic geese, and many kinds of ducks gather each autumn and stay through the winter. Feeding snow geese erupt to flight in fantastic synchronized explosions just before and during sunrise. This amazing event brings photographers out time and time again. Year after year, flight after flight, geese and cranes return to roost in the marshes.
